The Flash Season One Review — TV SERIES REVIEW

Man, what a season it has been for The Flash. For a first season, I was very impressed. I didn’t know how to feel about it with it being an extension of Arrow. One show is really dark and tries to ground itself in some form of realism and the other embraces the comic-book feel. Mad Max: Fury Road — MOVIE REVIEW

No matter what anyone says about this movie, one thing is for certain. You won’t find another movie quite like this one in our age of cinematic entertainment. Action movies nowadays are done a certain way. Choreographed fight scenes, filler romance, contrived conveniences, and CGI-filled mayhem is what we have become accustomed to. But with Mad Max: Fury Road, you get something quite unique. The only movie I can compare to this one is Death Proof, one half of the Grindhouse feature films that Tarantino blessed us with years ago. Whereas that movie was one chase sequence that filled 75% of the movie, this one is multiple chase sequences that fill up 90% of it. So let’s get started. Continue reading

Arrow Season Three Review – TV SERIES REVIEW

Oh, where even to start. From that first line, you probably have an idea of where this review is going to go. Maybe you don’t. This season has definitely had its up and downs but underneath it all, was there a story worth telling? That is the question I ask myself when looking back on an entire year of a TV series. The Flash has had a pretty darn good freshman year itself. But with the awesome finale last season, could Arrow still have the same quality it has had for the past two seasons? Continue reading
