22 Jump Street — MOVIE REVIEW

June 14, 2014

Jonah Hill, Ice Cube (and his “cube of ice”), and Channing Tatum in 22 Jump Street.

When I first heard that they were making a sequel to 21 Jump Street, I was annoyed. I didn’t want them to ruin a good thing and even paint the first one in a bad light if they blew it. But, I can safely say that this sequel is just as fun as the first one. And that is completely due to the two main actors, Jonah Hill and Channing Tatum. Continue reading

Neighbors — MOVIE REVIEW

Zac Efron, Seth Rogen, and Rose Byrne in Neighbors

This is one damn funny movie. Neighbors shouldn’t work overall but it does. It does a concept that feels a little familiar and borrows from other comedies in certain aspects. But where these other comedies fall short, Neighbors strives. It has been a long time since I have laughed this much at any single movie in the movie theater. The last one is probably The Wolf of Wall Street, which was the funniest movie of last year. So far, this is the funniest movie I’ve seen this year. Continue reading

Anchorman 2: The Legend Continues — MOVIE REVIEW

Meagan Good and Will Ferrell in Anchorman 2: The Legend Continues

If you absolutely loved this movie and don’t want to read someone bashing it beyond belief, you have officially been warned. Continue reading

It had looked pretty funny, as even the trailer made me laugh hysterically. It was even more surprising, given the crude nature of the film, hearing that Jason Bateman not only stars in this movie; but he also directed it as well. Jason Bateman has never struck me as the crude kind of character actor so it was surprising to see him tackle this role. But did he succeed? Continue reading
