How I Met Your Mother “Gary Blauman” — TV EPISODE REVIEW

How I Met Your Mother has definitely had its ups and downs this season. It has been really bad and then really good and then somewhere in the middle. This is pretty much due to having the final season take place over one weekend. This makes them have to use flashbacks in order to use the sets we all have grown to know and love; this being MacLaren’s Pub and the apartment. This week, it brought back a character I may have kind of forgot was on the show at one point. And that character is Gary Blauman. Continue reading

Parks and Recreation “New Slogan” — TV EPISODE REVIEW

“New Slogan” brought us yet another Duke Silver appearance in Parks and Recreation. I always love seeing that jazzy fellow make an appearance. It is usually once or twice a year, we actually get an episode with him or an episode that references him. Nick Offerman really is perfect as Ron Swanson. Not enough words in existence could possibly describe how perfect Offerman is as Ron. But this episode also showed us more of Leslie’s obsessive ways to get shit done (or not get shit done).

Community “VCR Maintenance and Educational Publishing” — TV EPISODE REVIEW

He really didn’t know what that was…

Community has really had a reputation for having some really strange episodes. “VCR Maintenance and Educational Publishing” was one of those strange ones to me. It was just odd. The study group was split into two different stories; Abed and Annie having their own story while Jeff, Shirley, Hickey, Britta, and even Chang had their own side quest. But did it all work? Continue reading

Arrow “The Promise’ — TV EPISODE REVIEW

Stephen Amell (left) and Manu Bennett (right) in CW’s “Arrow”

This week came off of a vicious cliffhanger that had me literally yelling at the screen. And in a good way. Kind of like “OH SHIT!”. Yeah, that ending made me excited. Last week’s episode was a solid episode that was made even better by that damn handshake. That’s right. Slade Wilson finally revealed himself to Oliver in the present timeline. And Oliver’s reaction was priceless. Credit to both actors who sold the scene 100%. Completely believed Oliver’s shock by the two-second look on his face. This week, we get the continuation of that. And we get one of the better episodes to date. Continue reading

Hannibal “Sakizuki” — TV EPISODE REVIEW

“I believe you.”

Okay, so holy shit. That was kind of disgusting. That opening scene, as amazing as it was, was actually pretty gross. Watching that dude tear up his skin as he stretches his way lose from other bodies was just rough. Glad I wasn’t eating at that time. Also, his fall was brutally unsympathetic. Just…bam, bye-bye. Hannibal is at it’s highest quality right now. It doesn’t look like it is going to let up any time soon. Continue reading

Believe Series Premiere — TV EPISODE REVIEW

NBC’s new TV series “Believe”, brought to you by J.J. Abrams (Lost) and Alfonso Cuarón (Gravity)

Believe is a new show that premiered on NBC. It is an odd mix of different things. It has a mystery element, a procedural element, and also a good vs bad element. Now, this show is about a girl with what seems to be some special powers and the people who have to protect her. At the start of the show, we see a little girl named Bo (played by Johnny Sequoyah) get into a car accident with her foster parents. And we see that people are after her. They want her for…reasons. We don’t know what they are but we assume their intentions aren’t exactly noble. Especially when these people killed her foster parents to get to her. They were unsuccessful the first time though. Continue reading

True Detective Season One Finale — TV EPISODE REVIEW

The best new show on television, “True Detective”

Give that man all of the Emmy Awards that you have! Holy cow, such good acting in this episode. Its nothing new with this show. Every episode, these two guys kill it. This episode had all of the set up from last week so it didn’t take much for it to get going this week. And once again, the episode was damn good. I was worried about this episode last week though. For one, I didn’t think the “lawnmower man” was a very strong villain. And I was worried because I honestly had absolutely no idea where these two characters were going to take us. What a journey this show was. Continue reading
