I have to be honest. When it was announced that they were making a sequel to Kick-Ass, I was pumped. Well, at the time, it was titled “Kick-Ass 2: Balls to the Wall.” But they ended up changing that to the basic title they finished with. But, as things started getting announced, I got legitimately worried. Matthew Vaughn didn’t come back as director; which sucks because I love Vaughn’s previous work. Plus, I didn’t know if I could buy Christopher Mintz-Plasse’s Red Mist as the main villain. Then we saw Jim Carrey get cast, which I actually liked; but his comments towards violence didn’t help the movie’s case too well. But with Jeff Wadlow taking over as director, does Kick-Ass 2 come close to the first one? No. Continue reading
